Water is the basic necessity of life and it is used for many purposes. So, reusing water is necessary. Kalinga University has taken several steps for the efficient usage of water.

Water timing schedules, frequent checks & maintenance drills etc. are done for efficient use of water. It also helps in avoiding overrun of water.

The University has Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) to treat the sewage water in the campus which is used for watering the gardens, green areas, maintaining lawns and flushing of toilets in designated areas.

The sludge settled in the STPs is removed twice a month and is composted and used as manure for the gardens.

Flow meters are in place to monitor water consumption pattern and take timely corrective actions. Water sprinklers are used to make prudent use of water wherever needed.
