Our Faculty of Pharmacy organised a Guest Lecture on "Essential Narcotic Drugs: The Vigilance Needed for Safe Usage and Misuse Prevention". The guest speaker was Dr. T. Pugazhenthan, Associate Professor, Faculty-in-Charge, Central Pharmacy & Essential Narcotics Officer, AIIMS Raipur, Chhattisgarh, who highlighted the clinical importance of narcotic drugs in pain management and palliative care. He informed the attendees about proper usage and risks associated with misuse. The session focused on regulatory compliance, national guidelines, and ethical responsibilities in drug handling. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Prasad Tiwari, Principal, Faculty of Pharmacy, Kalinga University.
