Online Education

2. Measures taken to complete the syllabus of courses and programs. Kalinga University, Raipur is conducting regular classes as per the need of the curriculum in online mode that is well monitored by the office of Dean Academic Affairs. To facilitate the effective delivery of the curriculum, the University has adequate IT infrastructure to ensure continuity in teaching – learning process in online mode. Google Classrooms, You-Tube Streaming and SWAYAM PRABHA platforms also help the University in ensuring syllabus completion in an effective way. The video links of the lectures are also shared through the student ERP portal so that students can go through the lectures later on if need be. The University has a well planned academic calendar that is released to the faculty members well in advance and is shared with the students during their orientation program. The University strictly adheres to the timelines mentioned in the academic calendar in terms of conduct of academic activities, completion of the syllabus and scheduling the class tests, assignments and end-term examinations. All the faculty members maintain a teaching diary wherein the daily lesson plan is recorded and followed for completion of the Syllabus within stipulated time. The Faculty members of the University have developed e-contents for the entire syllabus in the form of notes, assignments, PPT and Quiz. The e-lab experiments are also developed by the faculty members and the same are uploaded in the student ERP portal of the University. Students are provided with online projects which provide students with practical experience and a sense of accomplishment. The University uses projects as a learning activity since it makes the learning more relevant to the learners. Along with the regular classes the University also ensures holistic development of the student. To achieve the same online co- curricular activities are also being conducted through series of national and international webinars, conferences and competitions, guest lectures from experts, interactive learning sessions and various activities which focus on the practical aspects so that students are properly engaged through experiential learning. The University is not only fulfilling the curricular aspects but various value added courses are also being provided to the students. The University has strengthened the mechanism of mentor-mentee counseling to impart timely guidance to the students regarding any of their queries about syllabus. The University has developed KXAMS app to facilitate the students to take their examinations in online mode. The University conducts viva-voce examinations of practical courses through video conferencing to meet the challenges of pandemic scenario. The University has also procured E-contents in the form of databases like Web of Science, Inspec, J-Gate and Manupatra for the students to refer study material in online mode. The University also has the subscription of DELNET, NPTEL, NDL etc. through which students are allowed access to several e-learning resources. The University ensures effective conduct of classes through its technological competence; provision of informative feedback; administrative skills; responsiveness; monitoring learning and providing student support. Thus, the University takes adequate measures to complete the syllabus of the courses and programs running in the University.
