Chhattisgarh is one among the 29 states of India, located in the centre-east of the country. It is the tenth-largest state in India. It is the resource-rich state. It is a source of power and steel for the country, accounting for 15% of the total steel produced in the country. Chhattisgarh is one of the fastest-developing state in India.

Chhattisgarh has a well connected transport infrastructure through Road, Railways and Air. The official language of the state is Hindi, English & Chhattisgarhi. 3. Tell us more about Naya Raipur (New Raipur)?

Naya Raipur (New Raipur) is located in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. Naya Raipur is serving as the administrative capital of the State. It also caters to the infrastructural needs of Industry and trade in the region.

Naya Raipur is India's 6th Planned City and 4th among the Capital Cities in India. The city is considered to be one of the world's 1st Integrated City and provisions even further expansion and infrastructure upgrade in future. 5. When was Kalinga University Established?

Kalinga University, a premier institution of teaching and research in the country, was established in March 2011 under Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operations) Act 2005 – vide Gazette Notification S. No. 74 dated 25 March 2011 and under section 2 (f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act 1956. Kalinga University is the 9th State Private University to be granted with 12 (B) status for Research and Innovation by UGC.

    Kalinga University, Raipur has emerged as a centre of excellence of higher education in Central India. Strategically located in the Smart City of New Raipur, this University has started carving a niche for itself in the education domain and is rising as a shining star on the horizon of quality education.

    Kalinga boasts of World Class Infrastructure and student’s facilities with student centric approach. Highest attention is paid to hands on learning approach and students are encouraged to come up with innovative ideas for projects and practicals. The University has more than 75 laboratories and workshops, all well equipped with the latest, state of the art apparatus and tools. Special emphasis is given to the improvement/enhancement of communication skills through the language lab. More than 300 computers are available for the use of the students.

    11. What are the Hostel/Accommodation facilities at Kalinga University?

    Kalinga University has magnificently designed separate hostels for boys and girls each with all modern facilities with boarding and other recreational facilities. Our endeavour is to provide a separate, safe and secure residential facility for our boys and girls.

    Rooms are provided with attached washroom (except in certain dormitory rooms), bed (without mattress), table, chair and storage unit. Both AC and Non AC rooms (sharing basis) are available (as opted). Wi-Fi for internet connectivity is available for scheduled timing for academic purposes only and subject to conditions.

    Students in accommodation facility are permitted to keep certain electrical devices like electrical iron, laptop, mobile charger, hair trimmer and hair dryer. Extra electricity bill due to the usage of these electrical items will be borne by the occupants of that room.


    12. Is there a Student ERP in place?

    Yes, Kalinga University's Student ERP assists to manage every single detail about students in a holistic & organized way.

    The Student Academic Information System at Kalinga University is a Student Lifecycle Data Management System of student records, encompassing details right from his admission till his graduation.

    It also covers Curriculum, Notices, Academic Master Data, Communication Tools, Class Time Tables, Exam Date Sheets, University Transport Details, University Related Forms, Academic Calendar, Holiday Calendar and more.


    13. How does the Health Clinic cater to students?

    The University provides basic medical care through its Health Clinic for their students catering to first aid and minor ailments. For advanced care and consultation, the University has a tie-up with a 300 bedded hospital and Medical College by the name of Raipur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).


    14. Do you offer the facility of Education Loan?

    The University has tied up with leading Nationalized Banks; Central Bank of India and Canara Bank, to assist in channelizing Education Loans to the willing students. Students are free to avail this facility.


    15. Where is the nearest ATM?

    Within the Kalinga University campus there are 2 fully operational 24 hours ATMs from ICICI Bank and OBC Bank. Students and faculty members can use these ATMs to access their bank accounts for cash withdrawals and other facilities.

    17. What are the library facilities offered by the University?

    The University has a large library and reading room with capacity of 200 students, consisting of 70,000+ books 23 National & 26 International Journals and a student is entitled to 2 books for 15 days against Library deposit. The University is also member of several Online/Digital Libraries including National Digital Library (NDL), Developing Library Network (DELNET) and NPTEL. Students are given free access to these e-resources through their ERP login.

    The National Digital library of India (NDLI) is a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, India. The objective is to collect and collate metadata and provide full text index from several national and international digital libraries, as well as other relevant sources. It is a digital repository containing textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and all other kinds of learning media. The NDLI provides access to many books in English and various Indian languages.

    DELNET has been established with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerised services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development. DELNET maintains an online union catalogue of books available in its member-libraries. This union catalogue is continuously updated and is growing in size. It has created union lists of current periodicals in science and technology, social sciences and humanities. DELNET maintains a union catalogue of periodicals which contains full holdings data of the libraries. The database has details of articles which can be searched under the title, author, compiler, name of the periodical and subject. A database of thesis and dissertations submitted to Indian Universities has been started, which covers various subjects. The database has 70 records and contains information about the newspapers including title, name of the editor, published from, E-mail address and also the Web address of the INTERNET edition if available on the WWW, the database of E-books has nearly 1613 records.

    The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology. The main goal of NPTEL Phase II was to build on the engineering and core science courses launched previously in NPTEL Phase I. An additional 600 web and video courses were created in all major branches of engineering, physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level. Several improvements such as indexing of all video and web courses and keyword search were implemented.

    18. How does Kalinga University cater to security of the students?

    Entire campus including hostels, parking and academic areas are very well secured through in-house & security agencies with guards. CCTV cameras have been installed at all the places to keep a close vigil in the campus.

    Character/Transcript/Duplicate Marksheet/Verification/Name & Surname Correction/Diploma/Degree?

    The student can download the application form from the link provided below. The student will fill up the appropriate form, attach the relevant documents required as per the form, self attest the attached documents and Speed Post (Only) to the University Campus address along with the relevant fees for issuance of the desired document. The Diploma/Degree will be issued within 45 working days on the receipt of the above said and the rest of the documents will be issued within 15 working days of the receipt of the above said.     Yes, the Training and Placement Department of the University provides guidance and all the assistance for the students in order to make them achieve their career goals. The department takes right steps in identifying the demands of the current industry and prepares our students towards this need. Adequate emphasis is given for soft skill development complementing the regular academic programmes.

    Aptitude tests and group discussions are conducted at regular intervals to enable the students to improve their performance in competitive exams. The Training Placement Manager who is assisted by TPO, other faculties and student representatives from all the departments head this unit. Job oriented courses and special training programmes are regularly conducted. Kalinga University also arranges guest lectures, visiting faculty members for training students and faculty members too from time to time.

    37. What should a candidate do if he/she does not have the scorecard available with him/her & not even available on the internet?

    In this case the candidate will be given provisional admission and she/he will furnish an affidavit/undertaking that she/he will be furnishing the appropriate score details & documents within 60 days from the start date of the course.

    Even if the candidate is not able to furnish the required details, a maximum time limit is given till the start of the 1st Examination. If the candidate is still not able to provide the score details & documents, she/he will not be allowed to appear in the 1st Examinations and his/her candidature will be cancelled without refund.


    38. If the person has done his XII from distance learning/open learning/private, is she/he eligible to do B. Tech through Kalinga University?

    Yes, provided the course is recognized and equivalent to 10+2 examination conducted by CBSE or other recognized Boards.


    39. Is it necessary for the parents to attend/accompany children during counselling?

    No. It is not mandatory for parents to attend / accompany children during counselling.
